Lion Heights with FireBrain

OtherLion Heights began in 2013 on the west side of Chicago between friends, Dane Foltin (Bass/Vox), Jeremy Carlson (Keys/Vox) and James Campbell (guitar). The trio met while studying music at Columbia College and began playing together in various bands. The result was creation of their own musical trademark influenced by roots reggae music pumping out of Jamaica in the 60s and 70s. The trio blended aspects of Soul and R&B with vintage reggae to broaden and entice new audiences. Their talent led them to perform as a backing band for I Wayne, Lady G, Sister Nancy and Dawn Penn.https://lionheights.com FireBrain is steeped in the spirituality of Reggae and the rich Ska tradition as their Punk and Rock influences shine through their music. Its been going down for three years on St. Claude in a cool funky rehearsal hall. Longtime friends and veterans of the New Orleans music scene gather to collaborate on a project called FireBrain. Throughout New Orleans rich musical history the sounds of the Caribbean have been loud and clear. The musical styles of the Islands have been prominent in many of the New Orleans classic hit songs by the New Orleans legendary musicians and there is no denying the influence of New Orleans music on the Caribbeans musical style. It is said that New Orleans is considered the Northernmost part of the Caribbean and that still holds true today especially on that corner of St. Claude.Between its five members New Orleans FireBrain have many years of playing Reggae and Ska music. As members of 4 for Nothing, The Irie Daughters, The Uppressors, and the Jamaican me Breakfast Club they all began performing at New Orleans popular music venues such as Tipitinas, House of Blues, The Howlin Wolf, Jimmys Music Club, and Muddy Waters. Many of the shows were supporting the Jamaican Reggae Artist who toured through the city. https://firebrainband.com
