The Annual Red Dress Run through the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans is another of those uniquely New Orleans fun events that doubles as a fundraiser. Put on by the New Orleans Hash House Harriers, the Red Dress Run has provided more than a million dollars to 100 local charities. Runners (both men and women) don their most comfortable red dress and race for charity. Participants (21 and older) gather to enjoy live music performances and beer as early as 9 a.m, and race time is at 12:30 p.m. A red dress is absolutely required to run the race.
